Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a trained community volunteer appointed by a judge to speak up for the best interests of an abused or neglected child involved in a juvenile court deprivation proceeding. The ultimate goal of a CASA volunteer is to help make sure the child has a safe, permanent home.
Georgia Court Appointed Special Advocates (Georgia CASA) is a nonprofit organization which establishes and supports programs across the state that recruit, screen, train, and supervise community volunteers. CASA volunteers are then appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children involved in juvenile court deprivation proceedings. There are currently 47 CASA programs in Georgia that are affiliates of Georgia CASA and members of
National CASA. For more information about metro Atlanta CASA programs, visit

Opportunities to Serve
CASA volunteer
Volunteer to help abused and neglected children find safe, permanent homes where they can thrive. Be the voice of children who are in the midst of crisis. Each CASA volunteer is specially trained to gather information about a child's situation, attend court proceedings and make a recommendation so that the judge has the information needed to make a decision about the child's future. CASA volunteers are ordinary people just like you who do extraordinary things for some of our community's most vulnerable children. Volunteers must commit to 1 year and take 30 hours of training.
